OUR CONGREGATION

The Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate Conception (FSIC) were founded in 1847 in Glasgow, Scotland by Mother Adelaide Vaast and Veronicah Coordier, with a mission to witness God's love through humble service. Inspired by the spirituality of St. Francis of Assisi the Sisters dedicate their lives to prayer, education, healthcare, pastoral work, and caring for the poor and vulnerable. Over the years, the congregation has expanded its mission to different parts of the world, including Kenya, where they continue to transform lives through faith-filled service, serving communities with joy and dedication.

We carry out our service to the poor, the vulnerable and marginalized in simblicity,selflessness,and joyful spirit.'In our approach to God's people ,Hospitality will be a special mark of the service we offer" (FSIC Consitution statute 5 page 1)Therefore,FSIC charism is to respond positively to the cry of the poor and help fill the needs of time through Hospitality.

The Franciscan Sisters are a community of women religious dedicated to living the Gospel through prayer, simplicity, and joyful service to God and His people. We are present in the following countries, where we serve in education, healthcare, pastoral ministry, and outreach to those in need.
